Abstract
This is the third edition of the National Trust’s Annual Research Report, which shows the breadth of applied academic research carried out by staff across the Trust and with partners in research and practice.
Projects and partnerships featured in this edition demonstrate the progress the organisation has made as an Independent Research Organisation, and include:
- Generating practical solutions to complex challenges, such as collaborative approaches for decisions for wildlife and land management.
- Shaping the national conversation on the evolving role of historic houses for people, and sharing less explored histories.
- Bringing together academic disciplines across nature, beauty and history to understand what matters to people, and to help decision makers interpret the value of outdoor culture and heritage.
- Innovating with new techniques, such as using laser vibration readings to understand the stability of historic ceilings.
- Building our IRO capability and helping to build the UK’s heritage science infrastructure through our AHRC funded historic paint archive.
