Abstract
In 2022 the National Trust purchased a copper-alloy seal matrix associated with Mottisfont Priory. It had been discovered close to Mottisfont in 2021. This article describes the matrix in detail, as well as identifying its likely use in authenticating the sales of indulgences to raise funds for the Priory.
