Abstract
Historic landscapes take many forms and each has something different to offer the visitor. However, inclusive design was not always a feature in the thinking of landscape architects and garden designers and the needs and requirements of the changing uses of these spaces - often from private home to a public space - brings with it challenges to creativity and access. To significantly alter the landscape could potentially remove the very features which make it historical and memorable. This chapter explores some of the guidance and support available to assist landowners and managers in developing an inclusive and meaningful visitor experience for disabled people to historic landscapes.
